The Story 2o21

I moved to Tarragona, Spain from Barcelona in November 2o2o. The old town, Tarragona, with its ancient ruins and early beginnings—dating back to 500 BCE—is secured on a hill and wrapped in the coastline of the big blue Mediterranean Sea and encircled by hills and vineyards.

 I say, I live the in "Silicon Valley of Grapes" and the " Napa Valley of SPARKLING WINE.   90% of Spain's sparkling wine is cultivated and produced in Penedès. 

 February 2o2o- I started CAVASocials.org with a simple idea. Actually, if truth be told— I was looking for an excuse to get out of my small apartment to meet friends, neighbors and visitors to talk and taste the many, hundreds, of CAVAs and Sparkling Wines  that are produced in The Penedès, just outside Barcelona.

 I started hosting Sparkling Wine tastings, like wine tastings, with Jessica's Selection of 3 - Elegant, Festive and Classic.  The idea developed and my friends loved it and the tag line became: Jessica's curated tastings -  SPARKLiNG WiNE best paired w/FRiENDS.

That’s when, early on, I entertained myself by creating an ‘I Love Lucy’ style video of myself tasting 3 bottles of CAVA—all by myself—the catch was…they were all 00.0% alcohol. Who knew there were non-alcohol sparkling wines. It was great fun and a new discovery.  This much fun, to share with friends and guests, inspired me to keep learning, tasting and sharing in some form or another. And looking back, it was extremely comical, LOL.

ART

2o21 | I took up a black eyeliner pencil and started doing illustrations—and not very well, it was pitiful. However, I continued to play. I was inspired by all the beauty in the wine making process, the rituals and the passion that goes into every bottle of Sparkling Wine.

I’ve traded in my eyeliner pencil for an art  pencil and now I'm delighting in  illustrating all kinds of crystal flutes and sparkling wine glasses. The results are uniquely designed and artistically illustrated gift cards and art prints.  | ART best paired with a selection of SPARKLiNG WiNE.
